There are people across the business who actively look for ways to reduce waste and make better use of materials, particularly on large projects where resource use is significant. However, competing priorities can sometimes make it difficult for these initiatives to gain traction. The company promotes a range of environmental and sustainability initiatives, and while these are generally positive, I think there is still room for further improvement in embedding sustainability into day-to-day decision-making. Overall, BAE Systems appears committed to improving its environmental performance, but like many large organisations, it is still on that journey.
