I work a 9 day fortnight. Week A is 42 hours, week B is 34 and each week B Friday is an RDO.

9 Day-Fortnight is common but not compulsory. Hours are flexible and remote work is allowed 40% of the time.
As a university student, I can only work up to two days per week during semester, and BAE Systems has been very supportive of this arrangement. In my experience, the company is flexible when it comes to balancing study and work commitments. There was also a period when one of my working days fell on a Friday, and because the company has a rostered day off every second Friday, I was able to work from home when the office was largely empty. Overall, I have found the company to be understanding and accommodating of flexible working arrangements.
We do RDO option which is great, you work 4 days and then 5 days so its good never two full weeks in a row. It does mean an extra hour every day
