The management at Bakers is great. We often have town hall meetings with the whole firm to keep up to date with the firm's goals and key successes. The global head of the firm (based in London) also visits all offices globally, and we had the chance to meet him when he was in Sydney recently.
My supervisors have been great mentors who always have time for my questions. They are always welcoming and patient with me and understand the importance of training juniors at an early stage of their career. Internal communication is also strong and recognition is given frequently.
The partners and work providers are all very approachable and invested in junior development. Whilst every partner is different in their communication and mentoring approach, I found them all willing to take the time to support you. During our graduate rotations, there is always opportunities for ongoing feedback, praise and recognition. More formally, we have mid rotation and end of rotation sessions with our supervising partner and development coach where we receive formal feedback on our performance.
Managers are good mentors and invested in my development. However, time constraints and billable targets can be disincentivising mentorship efforts at times.
