The workplace culture at Beca is positive. People are passionate and proud of the work they deliver and seem to show genuine enjoyment outside of all the typical gripes of working. The biggest issue I've noticed is the overtime. During busy periods it is not unexpected to work long hours. Though they encourage you to take time off to make up for those hours, many do not get the chance to (due to various reasons). This may just come with the territory of being a consultancy. The structure seems straightforward, though there is some ambiguity around hierarchy. Some people may be of the same level but the difference between their responsibilities can be vast. Teamwork within teams and across the business is strong in my experience. Many projects require multi-disciplinary coordination, as well as across offices (AU/NZ). There is a social club that runs monthly events. There is also dedicated time every Friday afternoon where drinks and snacks are provided in the break room. This is not mandatory but a good way to talk with colleagues. Each team also typically has their own team bonding such as having fixed date coffee runs, team bonding activities, team lunches etc.

The culture is great, teams socialise with each other, office wide times and snacks are provided to facilitate this. Grads are under a team leader which is then led by a section manager. The teams are however quite large and led by principals. Potentially letting mid career levels each have a grad to feed work and develop may be better.

Incredibly welcoming environment, cannot stress enough how good of place it is to learn.
