I'm a process engineer. My work largely depends on what projects are in the pipeline. Since starting I have worked on projects ranging from IFT for a wastewater treatment plant to a balance plant for a steel mill. The deliverables of each project vary. Some are more drawing focused, others are heavy on documentation. At this stage the role is technical-heavy.
As much as I love the team and culture at Beca I am quite unsatisfied with the work I do. Alot of our work revolves around concept design for large infrastructure/process projects. My work however is largely to produce reports which I never liked as a student and I now hate as a full time employee. This is purely a personal qualm however and stems from a dislike of report writing. I find the design work quite rewarding and I am still yet to cover all the fields within the consulting field let alone the possible career progression into PM.
