I think some managers are very reasonable and make good mentors, however it seems some of leadership people are the opposite. It can feel very micro-managed in the way leadership interacts with the front-line people and the decisions that are made - as if how we are affected doesn't matter. It feels that this way of "leading" is encouraged across the business.
Line leader seems like a good person but is too busy to provide support.
I’ve had interactions with some managers that do not provide feedback in a constructive way and seem to what to challenge graduates to push them and see how resilient they are. Others are very good mentors and very good at providing feedback. There is a big difference in leadership quality across the business
