It varies among the teams. I have thought the culture was great. The lawyers and partners are all very lovely. Everyone has a sense of humour. Very very common to catch up for coffee with other lawyers/partners. Strong work ethic at the same time. Very good balance between excellence and socialising. Lots of social events and our colleagues often hangout after hours.
The vast majority of people are friendly. From what I have experienced, the teams are quite focused on their work throughout the day so it sometimes feels quiet, however your buddies will often check up on you. When the team does have a social chat for a few minutes though, it is really fun to be involved and you can tell they get along well and enjoy each others company. Your supervising team (and the broader team) also make the effort to take you for coffees to chat, get to know you, see how you're finding the clerkship etc.
