The culture in the office is mostly great in the team i have experienced. there are many genuine people who take the time to give you good feedback and many friendly faces. however, like in any firm, not everyone is perfect, but that's expected. otherwise, lots of socialising in the corporate team, but less in the other teams. friday night drinks are common. associates mostly make graduates feel included but have on occasions excluded or "forgotten" about them for deal celebrations events (even after they stayed back until 3:15am one night to work on a deal!).
The juniors are fostering a great sense of support and community among the firm, which feels like it is quickly spreading among all colleagues. initiatives are supported by the firm, including social and networking events. the structure is very flat, with partners and counsel often sitting in pods with grads and junior lawyers - very accessible and always happy for a chat at the desk or in the kitchen. teamwork is strongly encouraged, with collaboration between our network of international offices and sydney colleagues expected.
