I would like more opportunities for more strategic roles as currently my role primarily looks at operational costs.
It can be quite repative with mainly filling rates in our system.
My title is the operations graduate. My job is to generate monthly and weekly reports that get looked by important people within the company to help with the decision making process. A large part of the role is learning more about the department. Within the department there is a procurement team, logistics team and an agency team. Getting to talk with them and learning about what they do is an important part of the learning process.
I thoroughly enjoy the tasks that I am given to complete on a daily basis, I am in charge of running the shipping ports in Townsville and Gladstone, managing the stock that comes in and out of the port and ensuring that we can meet the supply and demand. Also creating reports is a massive part of my role, which I enjoy doing and gives a perspective on how the business is tracking overall in the logistics and supply chain department.
