Very good cooperation and teamwork, very social.
Culture varies significantly between each team (e.g. tax law team; property law team etc). In my team the culture is good, everyone is supportive and it doesn't feel too hierarchical. The firm has many social initiatives and the graduate cohort spend a lot of time with one another, which is great!
Workplace culture naturally varies between teams and practice areas, but my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. I have a fantastic relationship with both my partner and the wider team. I share an office with my partner, which means I am constantly involved in matters, included in discussions, and regularly asked for my views. There is a genuine sense that junior lawyers are valued and trusted to contribute. The rest of the team reflects this culture, with everyone working collaboratively and supporting one another. We work hard, but we also have a lot of fun, which makes coming to work genuinely enjoyable. Beyond day-to-day work, Corrs invests heavily in building connections across the firm. There are regular social events and activities, including firm retreats, end-of-year and mid-year celebrations, quiz nights, sporting events, and functions where employees can bring friends and family. It often feels like there is a social event every few weeks, with food and drinks always provided. The graduate cohort is also incredibly close-knit and social, which makes it easy to build friendships across different practice groups. Overall, the culture is friendly, collaborative, and approachable. In my experience, being able to communicate well, work effectively with others, and contribute positively to a team is highly valued, and this is reflected in both the workplace culture and the recruitment process.
