Again this is very team dependent, but I have been fortunate enough to have partners and mentors who are genuinely interested in my development.
My managers are reasonably accessible. While preferences for internal communication vary between managers, in general they have prioritised junior development. I have been able to request feedback sessions, support for discretionary bonuses, and general career advice beyond my career in this organisation.
I have had excellent managers throughout my experience as a graduate. They have all been extremely personable, approachable and supportive. They are easy to work with and consistently give useful feedback on my work as well as praise and recognition for my efforts. I have been able to work closely with senior staff at different levels including Senior Associates, Special Counsels and Partners.
All the managers I have had have been fantastic mentors, who have taken the time to guide me and support me. Both the feedback and praise/recognition are constant throughout the year to promote my growth and learning, despite the organised performance review every few months. I feel like I can tell these mentors anything that is on my mind at work which is something I truly appreciate.
My managers have been fantastic. They have helped me develop personally and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
