The process was standard and fair, in line with other graduate roles I applied for. However, the technology could have been improved, it was difficult to navigate the webpage used for managing my application, completing interviews, and doing assessments, I had tech issues that I thought impacted my application.
The recruitment standards for graduate roles across the APS are highly inconsistent and this one wasn't an exception.
Applied online, did psychometric testing, and then was invited for a group interview and individual interview (everything was virtual). The group interview had a group and individual component and was a few hours. Online individual interview was held the week after and we got send the questions about 30 minutes beforehand.
Incredibly long, as is typical for a graduate program. Timeframes around when the assessments would take place were clear, however the lack of information around when we would be notified of an outcome complicated the process.
There were many stages of the interview process and assessments. It was hard to juggle as a student but I think it was well worth it in the end. I learnt a lot about the position and my potential peers throughout this.
