Sustainability is a key focus at TMR, as the organisation is responsible for planning, designing, and managing transport infrastructure that supports Queensland communities. TMR considers sustainability in areas such as environmental management, climate resilience, resource efficiency, and long term asset planning. Employees have opportunities to contribute to projects that improve transport networks while considering environmental and social impacts. Through my work, I have seen how sustainability principles are incorporated into infrastructure planning, asset management, and project delivery to support safe, reliable, and resilient transport outcomes for the future. As a large public sector organisation, TMR is committed to delivering infrastructure and services that balance economic, social, and environmental outcomes, helping create long term benefits for Queensland communities.

TMR supports and follows whole-of-government initiatives

TMR shows a solid commitment to sustainability, with policies focused on reducing environmental impact and improving resilience to climate change. This is reflected in initiatives like using recycled materials in infrastructure and supporting lower-emission transport options. While not always visible day to day, there is a clear effort to embed sustainability into how projects are planned and delivered.

I really like how TMR's efforts for creating a friendly and great pathway for new graduates, i.e. this graduate programs and offer a lot of opportunities to meet other company's young engineers across. But those events were only involved in Brisbane. Sometimes, I feel like I want to fly to Brisbane at my own expense on Friday night just to attend this type of net-working event. But I know it is not realistic. It is quite a disappointment to miss out this type of career growth opportunities. It gives a vibe that if you work in the regional and you will be stuck in the regional, which is outside the world among your life. I really wish that my employer can potentially raise and hear our voice from the regional team. Coz I know I will somehow meet others young engineers in the future.
