Elders supports the needs and businesses of primary producers, from finance, banking, and real estate services, to wool, grain and livestock trading.
Interview process was smooth compared to competing businesses. Had a few different stages after initially handing in my resume. Had a screening phone call and then a face to face interview. Everyone was extremely friendly and it was very easy to have conversations that otherwise would be intimidating.
There were so many steps. I applied, had a phone call, an online interview and an in-person interview. I feel that maybe they can drop the online interview. The people involved in the hiring process were not the people I work with or report to. I think this definitely needs attention. My line manager was not in the interview, let alone running the interview. It's like the people who have to deal with me day to day have no say. The role I applied for generally has rotation between different branches. I was pushing to stay in one branch because I knew they wanted someone long term as well. I was made to sign the contract before finding out where I was going to be located. I don't think that is fair, because I could have ended up somewhere where I don't get along with the people, I don't like the community or just don't want to be, yet I would have already signed the contract. This is an issue bigger than the hiring process, but the least they could do was have places lined up before they hire someone. Apart from that, the people I did deal with were lovely and the communication was great.
Elders were very easy to deal with. The initial application process was simple enough and once it came down to interviewing in person and completing assessments, most of the communication was done via the phone which I really liked being able to talk to HR in person. They were good at keeping in touch and telling you where they were at in the hiring process.
Pretty full on and serious
Quite straight forward. There were multiple steps in the process, taking a couple months to know if you have been successful which was the only downside. Uncertainty if you should be thinking about other jobs while you wait.
