The Future Leaders Graduate Program is Queensland Government’s flagship graduate initiative, designed to develop the next generation of leaders.
In my role, I manage a diverse range of administrative and project support functions, including reviewing and preparing project acquittals, conducting insurance audits, drafting briefs and correspondence, developing presentations for internal and external stakeholders, and preparing accurate meeting minutes and action records. The role requires strong attention to detail, stakeholder engagement, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
Great and meaningful work. However, day-to-day admin task can be repetitive.
The work varies based on the demand and availability of work within the team. My role generally supports other team members with administrative tasks, research and analysis and support tasks for larger projects. I have had the opportunity to work on and shape my own projects, while contributing to other work. I have had exposure to the work of higher level colleagues and their decision making processes and often get to support these projects.
A lot of my jobs are administrative/secretariate work.
This varies depending on your team and department you are placed in. I feel that I have learnt so much in the past 6 months and have been able to contribute to so many interesting and high level projects. In my day to day (at my current rotation) I work on policy discussions between different departments and review and create legislation.
