We have a really great culture. All team work really closely and collaboratively together and we have many social events.
It was very team dependent. In general the lawyers at the top of the hierarchy were lovely, and it was clear that there was zero tolerance for rude or bullying behaviour. However, on the junior level there were teams that were quite cliquey. I’m unable to say whether that’s a consequence of the firm or if the nature of those junior roles brings that out as the work is highly competitive, but the clerks that seemed to thrive were those that were extroverted and willing to pierce the bubble. That said, like any workplace there were some people that were lovely and went above and beyond to help welcome us. Considering the short amount of time you have in a clerkship though, the different cliques may stunt some otherwise fantastic clerks from shining and getting to impress the teams.
