The culture is fantastic. Social, they are accepting and super lovely, helpful and are always willing to provide assistance so you can learn as much as possible. and when things go sour they are always happy to help you out.

Healthy and welcoming

There is a clear hierarchy in this business and the support offered to a graduate is solid. This can vary like any place depending on your rotation and how that site is run. However, as a business unit the culture is positive. There are times when colleagues will go out after work depending on where you are based and like anything if you get along with everyone on site. A graduate in this business is great opportunity. However, if you are not actively participating on site, supporting the team and adding value then you will become lost very quickly. There will be things you do not know and that is fine. However, you are expected to be present, commit to learning and add value wherever you can.

Due to the nature of the business, you tend to only socialise with the people on your site, which can sometimes be rather quite at a concrete plant because the drivers are out most of the time. There doesn't to be much collaboration between the managers as there is quite a bit of geographical separation. Some sites are more social than others, however after work there isn't that culture to hang out on a Friday for example. We are currently trying to put more of an effort in to having a regular catch up with the Grads/Ex grads and starting a young persons 'social club'.
