When I clerked there were only girls at that time. There is only 1 female partner in the Perth office so more inclusivity there would be great to see. The firm seems good with dealing with families and childcare emergencies. Unsure about maternity leave.
Seems to be very fair maternity leave
- The firm does not do well on promoting women to partnership. It is my understanding the firm's partnership is only about 1 in 6/16% female, as opposed to more balanced gender splits at lower levels. This indicates potential structural barriers/lack of support to women looking to rise internally at the firm. - To my knowledge, the firm does not engage in any particular initiatives to boost representation of women, ethnic minorities or LGBTI persons, but has in place the idea that all people should be treated equally. There is a great culture of respect at the firm, but there are not (to my knowledge) any affirmative action-type policies in place.
