Sustainability is an important focus for the business and is integrated into both operational and strategic decision-making. The company actively works to improve efficiency across its transport, warehousing, and supply chain operations, with initiatives aimed at reducing emissions, improving fuel efficiency, minimising waste, and optimising resource utilisation. From my experience, there is a strong emphasis on continuous improvement, with teams regularly looking for ways to operate more efficiently while reducing environmental impact. This includes improving operational processes, making better use of technology and data, and encouraging employees to identify opportunities for improvement.
Linfox has been very on top with their sustainability efforts, specifically with the Greenfox program, focusing on reducing environmental impact through collaborating with employees, customers, governments and environmental impact. Linfox's goal is to reduce their environmental footprint and impact on communities through carbon reduction strategies, reducing emissions by transitioning to available renewable energy sources and integrate energy efficiency and sustainable design principles into operations.
There were obvious attempts at sustainability improvements including various waste management techniques, fossil fuel reductions like electric trucks. I feel like more could be done through utilising renewable energy techniques like solar panels on the roof of the shed. Even if it offsets a small portion of the energy consumption at the site, its enough to show efforts on reducing there impact.
