I found the interview process and assessments quite standard, as I was hired through the clerkship recruitment process
Was the general clerkship process, which is very difficult in itself. However, Mallesons wasn't overly difficult given the circumstances. The interview and application process was predictable and competitive.
Clerkship process is fairly rigorous. Written application, video interview, in person interview, 3 week clerkship (basically another interview), 6 month probation period when you start.
The interview process was incredibly authentic and gave me the opportunity to know the firm and it's people. The only difficulty I had was a cocktail night which I found to be stressful and inauthentic, with prospective employees fighting each other for a say in conversations.
