We are given ample training sessions to get us on our feet, as well as throughout our grad rotations
As a graduate lawyer I had access to an extensive training programme ranging from practical skills (eg using word or excel) to legal training (eg insolvency law, public and private M&A transactions). I also receive constructive feedback consistently, and my partner and other instructing lawyers have generously taken the time to work through and explain matters with me (eg drafting a contractual provision together).
Graduate program training is quite standard with compulsory training sessions for graduates broadly (e.g. writing skills, technology) as well as those tailored for different practice groups. Informal development opportunities highly dependent on team and individual relationships. Generally good mentors available across different teams and often receive encouraging and constructive feedback.
Training at KWM is incredible. As a graduate, you have two weeks of mandatory training at the start of each rotation. There are also tech bootcamps. My Partners run team training twice weekly too. You have a development coach to guide your performance and progression, as well as a buddy.
Training is very good. Graduates receive PLT through college of law (funded by firm). Firm has many internal graduate sessions (including many induction sessions like technology, ways of working, practice area/team inductions, and developments in various areas of law). Many in person CPD sessions too. Lots of training in each team.
