Over the 23 months, I have developed a wide range of skills with the support of my mentor and senior leaders, and through the free training provided on our intranet.
There are many online trainings available through the Agency's learning platform. I have personally attended sessions on job interviews, cultural awareness, working with disabilities, and stakeholder engagement. Through the grad program, there are regular dedicated sessions on a range of topics, some of which will be completed with the whole cohort together. As part of the grad program, you can be paired with an experienced APS mentor with whom you can discuss whatever is helpful to your development. Your best resource is your supervisor, and it's worthwhile having a frank conversation about what you want to achieve, and how they can best support you.
