The company does a lot of charity work in the communities that we operate and has won some awards for Corporate Responsibility.
Being a residential mine, Newmont Cadia supports a lot of local initiatives and fundraising events in the local town, including the winter appeal charity. I have recently joined the social responsibility team in volunteering cooking meals at the Ronald McDonald House Charities, with supervisors supportive of taking time off work to help with these initiatives
Working in the Social Responsibility team has been a rewarding experience. My role allows me to contribute across a variety of areas including community investment, stakeholder engagement, internal and external communications, and reporting. I really enjoy the diversity of tasks and the opportunity to work on meaningful initiatives that support both the business and the broader community.
