Training programmes have been good but room for improvement. Quite a few of them are run online/virtually which I think is not as effective and leads to less engagement. I think in terms of performance feedback, my colleagues have been open to giving me feedback which is much appreciated and been helpful for my growth. Coaching and mentoring is also good at the firm with people encouraging me to step outside of my comfort zone and giving me context to tasks to allow me to do a better job at completing them.
There is regular graduate training organised by the firm regarding AI, contract drafting and review and practice area specific content. There are also monthly check ins for feedback organised by the teams with the graduates which is a great opportunity to hear how you are progressing
I found the junior training sessions and induction week training really helpful. Within my team, there hasn't been much one-on-one training and mentoring opportunity, and not many catch ups with supervisors aside from a weekly group meeting with all the grads and three partners. There has been an emphasis on visibility in the office, so it is encouraged to come into the office. It can also be difficult to find work throughout the week, so coming into the office is almost necessary as colleagues who delegate work will often delegate to people around them.
