Within BAA, during busy seasons / periods the work is abundant but quite monotonous whether it be completing audits, financial statements, tax returns or month end management accounts it gets repetitive. In non-busy periods it can be a struggle to find work at all let alone meaningful work. Within BRIS the level of fluctuates as well but not as drastically and I find myself completing meaningful work all the time and typically quite a large variety due to the varying types of company's we are appointed over and the size and scale of each appointment.
At the moment it is pre-audit fieldwork so the work can be dry, and as I am a graduate and still learning, there is only so much I know how to do so we are often delegated the basic, menial tasks. But I'm sure that will change with more experience.
Client communications, completing tax returns, tax planning, preparing accounts, completing audit work papers.
It's pretty clear how your tasks impact the overall project and impact of the project on the client.
Insolvency: preparing draft letters, calling official authorities, books and records listing, bank statement analysis etc.
