We are a Government Owned Corporation that owns, develops, operates and maintains the high voltage electricity transmission network in QLD.
Within office hours cooperation and teamwork is good generally within the team however outside of that it is a little bit siloed. Amongst other graduates, there is a big sense of community, a social club and quarterly outside of work hours activities. Because of this community and such a large cohort of graduates it is easy to understand how different areas of the business operate.
Culture is great, everyone is super friendly and easy to talk too. It can be a little political, as with all large organisations. There is a casual business that allows for a relaxed work place, but also a work place that can "ramp up" when it is required. The hierarchy is friendly and graduates can engage with senior manages etc.
I think my employer does a really fantastic job at hiring people that are good human beings which promote a healthy wonderful work culture. Good working relationships promote good work output. Colleagues who get along at work are likely to develop friendships outside of work too.
The support that I have been provided from my team members, team leaders, and manager is incredible. The company has the hierarchy which you will see in most businesses with the mangers, gm, executives, however this hierarchy does not limit communication and collaboration. Even with their busy schedules, my team members, team leaders and managers have given me the time and helped me develop.
