The graduate program provides a lot of opportunities to develop soft skills through training, workshops, and networking events. Technical training opportunities can vary between teams, but in my experience there have been opportunities to learn new skills through project work, additional responsibilities, and on-the-job experience.
In my role I was given a senior to help me through anything that needed clarification. This had given me confidence in my role as well as a mentor. The role itself has formal training and processes, but in itself every interaction and job is a form of continuous learning. We are also provided Quality Assurance Meetings of our jobs to identify any gaps in learning, as well as ways to improve.
There are plenty of opportunities for personal development. We have regular sessions covering soft skills as well as topics specific to the public sector.
The Digital Graduate Program offers a range of training and development opportunities, with a strong focus on soft skills such as communication, systems thinking, professional writing, stakeholder engagement, and working effectively in complex team environments. These sessions have helped me develop skills that are valuable across a wide range of roles, not just technical positions. The program also provides networking and mentoring opportunities. In particular, female graduates working in technology-related fields are encouraged to participate in mentoring programs, which offer valuable career guidance, professional support, and insights from experienced professionals. In addition, regular feedback from managers and colleagues has helped me identify areas for growth and continue developing both my technical and professional capabilities.
