Free access to AIM courses and Skillsoft training. There are plenty of guides for software and processes and people are always happy to help you. In the intern program I was assigned a mentor.
During the summer internship each student was placed with a supervisor, a mentor, and a buddy. Providing great guidance and the ability to ask a range of questions while learning in a new role. To then get the opportunity to work during semester has meant start a new project in the company and learning more skills.
All interns goes to Brisbane for a few days for induction, which is a great opportunities to learn about MILVEHCOE and meet the other students and team. They provide a lot of information regarding their projects, departments, and history, allowing us to gain a holistic understanding of the organisation. Mentors, buddies, and supervisors provided help and feedback. Through my project I have developed skills using CAE tools, and learnt about the workflow in the industry.
I have received training for multiple programs including those used for CAD, FEA and CFD. There are also occasional lunch and learns which cover topics linked to the organisation.
I was set up with a mentor and a buddy as well as my supervisor so I had heaps of support. There were regular learning opportunities during various lunches with different experts within the company.
