Regular coaching and mentoring sessions from both within the business and external companies have been great for my personal development. Exposure to all our different functions has been great and has taught me a great deal about the business. Not alot of opportunities to go to discipline related conferences though.
Have had all training and development opportunities I've requested fulfilled. Only limitation is asking for the opportunities. Leaders always have your development in best interest.
I have to make the opportunities for myself, there's very little assistance to try other roles or trainings and are not provided by employer. However, when we organise them, leadership are happy to accept it and pay the costs allowing us to develop and learn.
I have been very fortunate to attend a multitude of experiences through work. This is both in technical and interpersonal development. I have also been very fortunate to be able to 'build my own brand' and network effectively. Opportunities are endless if you fight for them. Technical training for my specific role however, is harder to come by and is mostly on the job learning. Performance feedback is difficult to come by at times.
I have had access to Rockwell e-learning and have managed to spend time in different areas of site. However, I do not have a strong role model in my team to learn from and have not been provided any technical training as it is too expensive for our team.
