I've picked up a lot on the job as a graduate. I started in a Perth based team and was taught the basics and fundamentals of my role, which has set me up for success in operational roles on site. Additionally, I have completed multiple training courses, online and in person, pertaining to my technical work and business value training. Additionally, as part of the graduate program, I've been lucky enough to have been able to have a "discipline champion" who can provide guidance around my rotations and career decisions.
Lots of training available - working at heights, confined space, first aid ect. External coaching program available Some of the graduate training is very very basic (how to have a professional conversation ect)
There has been some problem solving related training I've been given which is internal. I've been given external training for forklift and boom lift operation. I've been given the green light for some external technical training, however that needs to be organised by myself. Performance feedback is limited.
Some of the training is mandatory, but poorly designed. Rather be able to choose what training is relevant to me.
