I'd like to have more constructive feedback from my manager and team leads. I know they'd tell me if I was doing something wrong, but it's harder to know how to improve when I'm performing satisfactorily. My manager is a great mentor, but it can be tricky at times to communicate when they are so busy.
Managers are approachable, supportive and willing to make time for graduates. They provide guidance, share their experience and encourage questions, helping graduates feel supported as they learn and develop. Alongside this, SA Power Networks has a mentoring program where each a graduate is assigned a mentor for the year and meets with them monthly to discuss development goals, seek advice and explore career pathways.
Managers make great mentors. Managers schedule a one-on-one weekly meeting with every member in the team to allow for questions to be asked and mentorship. Response times of managers are generally quick, and they are always willing to help.
