Senversa hosts monthly training sessions of specific technical topics and is transitioning to a coaching initiative to provide specific and relevant training to each specific person. There are also opportunities to attend external training events ,where identified to be relevant and valuable to the business.
Training was very self led and adhoc. No formal system and no real way to track progress and/or test knowledge. At some point the "training" just stops and you are expected to just figure it out. Office training barely exists at all unless you keep pestering for it
There is always training happening online relative to the industry and we are often getting invites to training from member organisations like ALGA and ACLCA. In person training in the field is really good and thorough and we never get sent out in the field if we don't know what we're doing or if we are not confident that we will be able to do the work on our own. There is a lot of support when it comes to junior staff and even as you go up in the roles. We also have check ins with our managers quite regularly and when coming on board, we are assigned a buddy to help us with day-to-day things. I have developed lots of field skills as I have been trained up as a grad and also skills in reporting. We are given the opportunity to write reports after the field work so that we can see why we do what we do in the field which is an invaluable experience.
Always providing training and opportunities for training
Training from the very beginning of the graduate program has exceeded expectations from technical office jobs to days of field work Current coaching opportunities are one on one with high level staff and home in on specifics that the individual juniors want to learn With new staff coming through, the opportunities to train others is also highly rewarding
