I have been quite happy with the tasks I have received as a grad. I have received numerous substantive, challenging tasks that have been given to me to facilitate my learning and to give me an opportunity to try new things. As a grad there are naturally more administrative tasks that I am given that are not as interesting/substantive but I understand that comes with being the most junior in the team. All of my colleagues have been great at trying to find meaningful work for me to help with and are always there to assist.
I contribute to work on the matters we work on and I have the oppertunity to shadow more senior members of my team
This is very team-dependant. Some teams do not offer rotating grads many learning opportunities due to the fact that you will only be in the team for 6 months. Others invest in the grads to try and engage them. You may therefore end up doing the same administrative tasks on repeat for 6 months, as this is what is most efficient for the team.
I am tasked with reviewing medical records, expert medical reports (such as from orthopaedic surgeons), financial records, expert liability reports (such as from engineers), employment documents. On review of same, I am tasked with drafting advices on matters including workers compensation, work injury damages, and common law damages.
