The informal training is excellent, as colleagues are knowledgeable and supportive in our day-to-day work. however, i believe there should be more formal training opportunities, whether online or in-person, to further support students and graduate employees in their development.
Formal training opportunities are provided by the department or graduate program, graduate program is once in a quarter, in-house formal training is once a month, sharing industry knowledge and projects showcase. there are a lot of informal training sessions whenever you needed, people/seniors are all willing to share their knowledge and giving you advice over the projects or career development.
