Promotion from graduate to assistant project manager after 1-2 years, then subsequent promotion to project manager after 3-4 years. Promotions largely depend on project resource requirements. Stockland prefers to fill roles internally.
Stockland provides good opportunities for career progression through mentoring, development programs, and exposure to a diverse range of projects. Progression is typically based on performance, initiative, and continuous learning. As a graduate, I've found there are plenty of opportunities to develop new skills, take on additional responsibilities, and work towards my long-term career goals.
Individual teams yes, 100%. 6 months in, I have never been in a team where I have felt so supportive with my career aspirations. The downside of what has dragged this rating down significantly I would say is the disconnection between the business units vs the graduate people and cultures team. Appreciate there are systems and procedures to ensure there is order but often times the system is too rigid and in fact not benefiting us graduates on our learning. In property, it is a multidisciplinary sector where business units collaborate daily between teams so having experience in different teams outside of your core is extremely beneficial. However I don't feel supported at all in that aspect. The graduate coordinator team believe you should maintain within the stream you entered the group which I don't think it's necessary the right model.
While there is alot of movement and therefore opportunity to be promoted, in development you must fill a role to be promoted which requires a full interview process. Additionally, it means someone has to resign or move for a role to become available.
