SPP is a management consulting firm with offices in Melbourne and Sydney, helping organisations solve complex challenges and drive lasting impact.
Being a boutique firm, there are many opportunities for junior members to step up and take on additional responsibilities while still feeling well supported. We often work in small teams, which means that even as a junior member, your inputs are valued and relied upon to drive outputs. Everyone genuinely wants to set you up for success, and when you demonstrate that you can step up, progression tends to follow quickly. (e.g. I moved from Associate to Senior Associate in ~1.5 years)
At most consulting firms, including at SPP, it is a fairly standard linear career progression. Experience and ability to lead are usually what are required to move up to the next rank. Namely the ability to hold a project on your own while working effectively with others. There are plenty training opportunities and so many interesting, genuinely impactful projects at SPP, so lots of chances to fulfil my career aspirations. However as a boutique it is limited in how much they can pay and so, to my knowledge, at least in the early stages, the pay is not comparable with larger consulting firms. I am not sure if this would change significantly after reaching Manager etc.
