The starting pay is slightly above the industry average, which reflects our positioning as a boutique firm. We also have an at-risk bonus structure tied to overall firm performance. In terms of perks, Ubers and meals can be expensed when you're working later than usual, and we often have firm-funded social events (e.g. team dinners and social outings).
It's very basic, nothing special. It was originally on a casual basis but then they adjusted it to daily remuneration which ended up being less than before, but as I'd already said yes there was not much I could do about it. Also being an intern is unique as there isn't much scope for negotiating salary, given I am primarily undertaking the internship for experience. For this internship I also had to relocate but SPP did not subsidise the accommodation or flights, so that ended up taking a chunk out of the salary.
