I work primarily in the data science/BA space so a lot of data wrangling, analysis and dashboard creation as well as some machine learning/simulation work. I think that sometimes there is not a specific task for me to do and so I have to go around and ask or just play around with things, but overall the work is fun and thought provoking.
Within my first rotation of sustainable project development- technology and innovation, I worked on various technology reviews and opportunity assessments. I also project managed an innovation trial of a remotely deployed autonomous water quality sensor. This involved planning, managing stakeholders, site visits, supplier engagement, data analysis and results, procurement and strategic reporting. I also worked on reviewing previous concept designs for a Digester expansions and scope definition for a consultancy proposal for a detail design for this project. Finally, I worked on defining and completing a gap assessment for sustainability reporting and data metrics.
My current workplace rotation is as a sewage treatment plant operator. I greatly enjoy this role. Day-to-day tasks include cleaning and maintaining equipment on the plant, sampling, using SCADA to monitor the plant remotely, cleaning around the plant, completing safety checks and logging a ticket when things aren't working.
Pressure issues, odour, operation issues, maintained strategies, and potential incidents
