Sustainability makes up a big part of the onboarding training we do and it is clearly a priority for the company. The team I work within is developing a project that will have benefits in terms of sustainability.
The company very much values and considers sustainability of the environment and future community growth in everything. The Strategic Ambition considers these values and incorporates them into goals for planning and development of projects. There are four 'net' goals of net zero carbon and nutrients by 2040, and net positive Blue by 2040, and net positive green by 2040. Which focus on reducing waste and impact on greenspace and improving circularity through more recycled water opportunities and leakage reduction in the network.
They have a formal net zero target and invest in sustainability R&D - which I think is pretty cool for a utility.
