I've experienced a few managers and they have all been really great to interact with and are superb mentors... when they have the time. It's the nature of high workloads and a fairly fluid work environment that the priority for a graduate can be lower on the list and therefore you can be left wanting. That's why the scheduled meetings are a great opportunity to help balance this problem.
