I find that the culture varies greatly between teams. Some teams are very supportive and cooperative and others less so. As commercial law is very hierarchical in nature, with many different tiers of employees, it can feel very structured and rigid in its hierarchy.

There is a defined structure and hierarchy but the firm prefers to use more flat structures. I have had direct contact with the Counsels and Partners, rather than only going through the associates and senior associates. The firm is very professional, with the people their generally focused on providing high quality work. With that being said, it is not a cold workplace with lawyers from all levels happy to chat. There is a strong sense of cooperation, as the teams are focused on providing a holistic service instead of each team being siloed and protecting their own clients. The firm also encourages socialising by setting up events and encouraging office drinks after work at certain times.
