Although the firm allows working from home, the current team I am in requires full time in office attendance. However, the team also requires me to be contactable on weekends and after work during the week.
At White & Case, hours and working arrangements are quite team dependent. I can only draw on my experiences in my team, however, the arrangements are very flexible. For myself, there is no pressure of being late to work (assuming it is a reasonable time). One time I worked late and the Partner told me that I should come into work later and that I should prioritise sleep. During significant rainstorms, the Partner wanted everyone to work from home, and not come in. Other experiences of flexibility include: (1) encouragement to head home and only jump online once general life admin is sorted; (2) one time I was the only person in the office and the team encouraged me to head home early if I wanted to; and (3) two of our Counsels have young families and they are working under a job share arrangement.
