There is good training provided as the first 2 days was just training and learning about the company. I was overwhelmed at first when I did start but I feel everyone is going to be no matter how much training is given to anyone. They also provide recourses for continued learning for everyone such as lunch and learn meetings. In terms of feedback we have a 3 month review and 6 month review before going to an annual performance review where pay is discusses as well. There is no real mentoring happening, but I feel comfortable to ask questions to people higher up than me. The grad college was a teaching event which brought all the grads across WB (AUS and NZ) to Bris for a week for a formal learning. This was helpful but sometimes the days felt very long. But overall I am happy with the training but feel I learned most of my knowledge and skills on the job with trial and error
It can be quite jarring at first if this is your first role and feel like you've been thrown in the deep end. Training is good but find at times you need to ask for it rather than it being a prepared structure.
I was provided several PDFs to read and videos to watch but I wish it could be delivered in a more digestible and engaging format rather than presented to me to go through when I can. However, the one-to-one training I've had with my supervisor has been great and very helpful since learning hands-on feels more intuitive.
During my role as a Client Service Officer, I have participated in a range of formal and on-the-job training programmes designed to improve my technical knowledge, client service capabilities, and compliance understanding. Key development opportunities have included training on financial advice processes, superannuation and investment platforms (such as BT Panorama, Netwealth and CFS Edge), compliance and regulatory requirements, client onboarding procedures, and the preparation of advice documentation including Records of Advice (ROAs) and Statements of Advice (SOAs). I have also developed my skills through regular team meetings, internal knowledge-sharing sessions, and coaching from senior advisers and managers.
